Copyright / DMCA Policy

Reelody respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. Under our Terms of Service, users may only upload music, images, and other material they own or are licensed to use. This page explains how rights holders can report infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), and how users can respond.

1. Reporting infringement (takedown notice)

If you believe content on Reelody infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@reelody.com with the subject line "DMCA Notice" including:

1. identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
2. identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to locate it (a URL or project/video identifier);
3. your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
5. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
6. your physical or electronic signature.

On receipt of a valid notice we will remove or disable access to the material promptly and notify the user who posted it.

2. Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address including: identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake; your name, address, and phone number; your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which Reelody may be found); and your signature. If the original claimant does not file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the material.

3. Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe, and we may suspend accounts after a single egregious violation.

4. A note on uploaded music

Reelody is a creation tool: users supply their own music and imagery, and the videos they generate are private to their account unless they choose to share them elsewhere. Responsibility for having rights to uploaded music rests with the user. Rights holders who believe a user is misusing their work may use the notice process above.
