Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Reelody Inc., a California corporation ("Reelody", "we"), collects when you use reelody.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run the service, we send your uploaded media to the AI providers that power generation, we don't sell your data, and we don't use your content for advertising.

1. What we collect

• Account information — your email address and authentication data, managed through Supabase.
• Payment information — purchases are processed by Stripe. We store your credit balance, purchase history, and a Stripe customer reference. We never see or store your full card number.
• Content you upload — songs, audio, lyrics, photos, and prompts.
• Generated content — the videos, images, and intermediate files the service produces for you, including automated analysis of your media (for example detected faces, voices, and timing) used to build your video.
• Face measurements (with your consent) — to keep each character looking like the same person and to sync the right mouth to the song, we measure the faces in your photos and videos. Section 4 explains exactly what this is and how long it is kept.
• Usage and technical data — logs of requests, job status, errors, IP address, and browser information, used for security, debugging, and billing accuracy.
• How you found us — when you create an account, we record where your first visit came from: the campaign name on the link you followed, or the name of the website that sent you (never the page you were on), or "direct". It is kept in your browser until you sign up, stored with your account, used only to learn which of our channels work, and never shared.
• Free-trial abuse signals — when a free trial is granted we record a random id your browser generates for itself, and a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself), for 30 days. It answers one question: whether a free trial has already been given out on this browser or connection. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or anything else.
• Session diagnostics — to find and fix problems, we use Sentry to capture errors. When an error happens, it also keeps a replay of how the app behaved in the moments before it (screens, clicks, and timing). Anything you type into form fields is masked before it leaves your browser. These recordings are used only for debugging and are deleted automatically after 30 days. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, replay is switched off; only the error itself is captured.

2. How we use it

• To provide the service: storing your projects, generating your videos, and delivering results.
• To bill you correctly and prevent fraud and abuse — including giving one free trial per person rather than per email address.
• To support you and fix problems.
• To improve the service's reliability and quality.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded or generated content to advertise anyone else's products.

Showcasing. We may publish videos made with Reelody on the reelody.com website — whole, in part, or resized — as examples of what the Service does (Terms of Service, section 6). A video can contain personal data, such as a person's likeness, so this is worth stating plainly here as well as there: you can opt out at any time by emailing support@reelody.com, and we will stop using it and take it off the site.

Legal bases (GDPR). Where EU/UK data-protection law applies, we process your data on these bases: performance of a contract (account, projects, generation, delivery of results), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, debugging with error logs, service reliability), explicit consent(face measurements, section 4a), consent (marketing emails, and showcasing your videos on our site — each can be declined or withdrawn at any time), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

3. Who your data is shared with

Generating an AI music video requires sending your media to specialized providers. When you run a generation, relevant parts of your content (audio excerpts, images, video frames, prompts) are transmitted to one or more of:

• Kling / PiAPI — video generation
• Sync (sync.so / SyncLabs) — lip-sync generation
• OpenAI and Google (Gemini) — text, image, and planning models
• Replicate — hosted AI models

Infrastructure providers that store and move your data:

• Cloudflare — application hosting, content delivery, and media file storage
• Supabase — account database and authentication
• Stripe — payments
• Sentry — error monitoring and session diagnostics
• Resend — sending our emails to you (your email address and the message)

These providers process data under their own terms and may do so on servers in various locations, including outside your country. We share only what is needed to perform the task, and we may also disclose information if required by law.

International transfers. We are based in the United States, so using the service transfers your data there and to the countries where the providers above operate. Where EU/UK law applies to a transfer, it relies on the provider's EU-approved safeguards — Standard Contractual Clauses and/or certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as published in each provider's data-processing terms.

4. How long we keep it

• Your projects and media are kept while your account is active so you can return to them.
• Deleting a project removes its media from our storage; temporary processing files are cleaned up automatically.
• Inactivity: if you do not sign in for 12 months on a free account, or 3 years on a paid account, your projects — including any song, images, and video — are deleted. We email you twice before this happens, 30 days and again 7 days ahead; signing in at any point resets the clock and cancels the deletion.
• If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal data and content, except records we must keep for legal, billing, or fraud-prevention reasons.

4a. Face measurements (biometric information)

Some laws — for example the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, and the laws of Texas, Washington, California and the EU/UK — treat measurements of a face as biometric information. We state here what we do with them.

• What we create. When a photo or video of a person is used in your project, face-analysis software running on our own servers turns each face into a list of numbers that describes its shape (a "face template"). We do not create fingerprints, voiceprints, iris or hand scans.
• Why. Only to build your video: to keep each character looking like the same person from scene to scene, and to make sure the person who sings a line is the one whose mouth moves. We never use it to find out who someone is, and never compare it with any face outside your own account.
• Consent first. Before your first photo or video is uploaded we ask for your written consent, and your confirmation that you have the right to use what you upload or, where it shows a real person, that person’s consent (for a minor, their parent’s or guardian’s). Nothing is uploaded or measured without it.
• Never sold or shared. We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from face templates, and we do not disclose them to anyone — including the AI providers in section 3, which receive images and video but never the templates — unless the law requires it.
• Where it is kept. The template of a character's reference photo is stored with that character in your project. Templates measured on video frames exist only while a job runs and are discarded when it finishes.
• When it is destroyed. A template is permanently deleted when its purpose is served: when you replace the character's photo, remove the character, delete the project, or delete your account — and in any case no later than 3 years after your last interaction with Reelody, whichever comes first. Copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days after that.
• Protection. Templates are protected with the same care as the rest of your most sensitive data: encrypted in transit, stored in access-restricted systems, and backed up only in encrypted form.
• To withdraw consent or have templates deleted, email support@reelody.com.

5. Security

Data in transit is encrypted, access to production systems is restricted and authenticated, and payment handling is delegated to Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the service.

6. Your rights and choices

• You can access and delete your projects and media in the app at any time.
• You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@reelody.com.
• Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. We honor valid requests regardless of where you live.
• If EU/UK law applies to you, you also have the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing) and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
• Do Not Track: our site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals — there is no third-party ad tracking to switch off.

7. Children

Reelody is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and you confirm your age when you sign up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 as a user. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data; if you believe this has happened, contact us at support@reelody.com.

Adults sometimes include their own children in a video, for example a birthday present. Our Terms allow this only for the child’s parent or guardian, or with their permission. Photos and face measurements of a child are handled as described in section 4a, are never shown publicly by us, and are deleted on the parent’s or guardian’s request, or with the project.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
