A Solmi alternative for music videos with lip-sync in wide shots and duets
Solmi and Reelody both start from a finished song and plan a storyboarded video with a singer. They differ in how the lip-sync is framed, what the free try gives you and what a plan costs.

The short answer
Solmi describes itself as an AI music video generator and director: upload an MP3 or WAV, or paste a Suno link, and it detects the lyrics, writes a brief, storyboards the video shot by shot, casts a performer from your photos and lip-syncs the vocals. That is close to what Reelody does, and the two are the nearest to each other of the tools we compare.
The difference is in the singing shots. Solmi's app labels its lip-synced shots “singing close-ups” and falls back to a performance shot when the vocal is too dense, too quiet or too sparse for a shot. Reelody syncs the singer on the lines you choose in close-ups, wide shots and duets, with a dial for how many lines.
| Reelody | Solmi | |
|---|---|---|
| Starts from | Upload an MP3 or WAV (no link import) | An MP3 or WAV; its FAQ also lists a Suno link (Udio links cannot be imported); optional photos to cast the performer |
| Story | Writes a scenario with a story arc, cast, locations and shot plan; all editable before rendering | A brief and a shot-by-shot storyboard, editable shot by shot; a "Story MV" and a "Singing MV" style |
| Characters | The same characters in every scene; upload your photo to be the singer | Each character approved from a reference image so the same face appears in every shot; a second singer needs a second photo |
| Lip-sync | The singer’s mouth matches the words (lip-sync) on every line you choose, in close-ups, wide shots and duets; a dial sets choruses, verses or every line | Shown as "singing close-ups", with a lip-sync amount control; a dense, quiet or late vocal is rendered as a performance shot instead; wide shots and duets not stated |
| Length | Whole songs | Paid plans render the full song; audio up to 10 minutes |
| Free | Three scenes of your own song, usually around 7 seconds, 1080p, watermarked, the singer’s mouth matching the words on two lines, no card | One-time credits for a single 20-second preview at 480p, watermarked, personal use only; no card |
| Paid plans | $29, $59 or $99 a month: 2,900, 6,195 or 10,890 credits, up to 2, 4 or 8 full videos | $35, $85 or $135 a month for 2,000, 5,500 or 9,000 credits; credits do not roll over |
| Video models | Kling 3.0 Omni, Kling 2.6, Veo 3.1, Gemini Omni, Wan 2.6, Luma, MiniMax H3, or automatic | Not stated for its music video tool |

When Solmi is the better choice
If you work from your phone, Solmi has iOS and Android apps with one shared credit balance. It imports a Suno share link directly, and the same account makes songs, covers, dance videos and lyric videos. You can regenerate and pay for one shot at a time, and it detects lyrics in 14 languages. Its storyboard editor shows the price of each step before you run it.
When Reelody is the better choice
If the singer should sing in wide shots and in duets, not only in close-ups, Reelody syncs them across the scenes and sets how many lines are synced with one dial. Plans start at $29 a month, and the free demo gives you three scenes of your own song in 1080p with two lines lip-synced and no card. See how the lip-sync works.
Frequently asked questions
Is Reelody a good Solmi alternative?+
Yes if you want lip-sync beyond close-ups, including wide shots and duets, and a lower entry price. Solmi has phone apps and a Suno link import that Reelody does not.
Can Solmi lip-sync wide shots or duets?+
Its pages do not say. It describes its lip-synced shots as singing close-ups and renders a performance shot when a vocal does not suit lip-sync. Reelody syncs the singer in close-ups, wide shots and duets.
Is there a free plan?+
Reelody has a free demo of your own song: three scenes, around 7 seconds, in 1080p, watermarked, with no card. Solmi gives one-time credits for a single 20-second preview at 480p, watermarked.
How much does Reelody cost?+
$29, $59 or $99 a month for 2,900, 6,195 or 10,890 credits, up to 2, 4 or 8 full videos. Solmi plans are $35, $85 and $135 a month.
Can I use a Suno song?+
Yes. Download the MP3 or WAV from Suno and upload it to Reelody. Suno limits file downloads by plan, so each song you upload uses one of your downloads. Solmi’s FAQ says it accepts a pasted Suno link; Suno no longer serves a song’s audio from its link, so check that it works for your song.
